During the second year of my master’s studies at Aalto University I was a member of the core team responsible for organizing ARTEFAKTI, the Contemporary Design department’s annual graduation show.
Together with Wenla Nwajei, Fanny Kajela and Lauriina Markkula we produced and curated the entire exhibition of 12 graduates in Kaapelitehdas as part of Helsinki Design Week. We managed to get a brick sponsorship from Wienerberger and therefore planned the entire exhibition design around bricks.
One of my main tasks was to define the exhibition’s annual identity (the logo and fonts had been defined the previous year by Antti Grundstén) and design a project catalogue and all the exhibition materials accordingly. The brown of the bricks became the background color of the annual theme, contrasted with bright orange, lime-green and turquoise.
Overall ARTEFAKTI24 was a success with over 5000 visitors.
